Ramzan MidNight Shopping @ Charminar

It is Ramzan time and Sagar, my frnd told that Charminar @ night during Ramzan is a must watch place for anyone. Thats the real peak hour that you could see. The build up was bit bulky only...so thought I wud check it out.

Me, Anish, Anant and Jay left from the office, on the way Sagar came n joined in his Bajaj Scooter and we all reached Charminar @ around 11:30 AM. It was really great to see that much crowd during that time. I have never seen it anywhere. Even ladies were there, doing their shopping for Ramzan and Diwali.

Look @ the traffic around CharMinar, this was taken @ midnight 12 AM.

People were very hungry since they had not have anything for dinner, so first we went to Pista House to have Haleem. I dont like that taste of it that much, because it is sweet...sweet? Yeah, whichever is not spicy, is sweet for me :D.

Look @ the time in the watch...it is 12:30 when we went there for Haleem. And it was crowded there. The sweets that we got there(Qurbani Ka Meetha N Kaddu Ka Kheer) also were amazing. I got the sweets parcelled for home also, hope I safely deliver it @ my home.

After Haleem, we thought we would take a pic outside the Pista House.

These people were very busy in preparing the Haleem to satisfy the insatiable hunger of the people. This is @ 1 AM in the morning.

On the way back from the PistaHouse, we found this guy who is a serious follower of TDP. He himself made this facny cycle and campaigning for TDP.

And we took a photograph along with him also.

We took a photograph by standing right on the middle of the road, infront of CharMinar. This was @ 1:30 AM in the morning. From there we tried to enter the Mecca Masjid and see things over there. But they said it is closed.

And infront of Mecca Masjid, in a small shop they were selling some meat. Not sure what it was, but it looked lucrative. Still, since the shop is small and were not sure what meat it was, we didnt take it.

After some more roaming, ppl wanted to buy Topi(u can call it cap). So we went to one shop, all tried different different topis, took photographs also, but finally bought only 3 topis. But Jay cud not find one which fits to his head, he is too bulky.

We took this photograph with topi as well as the handkey around the shoulder. Thats the only thing that we purchased. Otherwise we only ate n roamed there.

After buying topis, we went to one small shop to have something chill @ 2:30 AM. An auto was standing there, so everybody tried to drive the auto...:D and me too. This was taken there.

Finally we left the place @ 2:45 AM. We had reached Karachi Bakery, Madhina, we saw Kalasagar had stopped his Bajaj Scooter and waving his hands to stop us. We thought there might be some problem with his scooter.

But he was still left with lots of enthusiasm. He told there is an famous ice cream shop by name 'Famous Ice cream'. The ice-cream is damn good and it is too cheap there. As soon as they hear something reg. food, all those who were sleeping also woken up and boosted up.

This was taken infront of the Famous Ice Cream Shop. I generally dont take ice-creams, coz i am dieting...:D, so they ordered 4 bricks of Mango Ice Creams, Sagar told it wud be 40 Rs. Jay asked, 'Each?'. Sagar, 'No! Totally', we all were surprised. But the total amount was just 25 Rs for that much ice-creams.

Jay immediatly told, 'Okay! I am going to spend my Diwali vacation here in Famous Ice-Cream, all the time eating.!'. I tasted a bit, it was really good. Defenitly there is no match for Quality or Quantity.

Finally we left that place aroud 3:10 AM and reached home @ 3:30 AM. Altogether it was a nice experience and lots of fun with friends in that place.

Devnar School of Blinds...

I got the news that an exhibition is going on that school, so I thought i would visit that school and see how are the things there.

There were many kids studying. Some are half blinds, some are completely blind, some are rich and some are poor. For one kid, one of the eyes was popoping out, some dont open their eyes, for some the colour of the eyes itself different.

Not sure why god should make such creations...atleast physically he can give everything to all.

There are teachers there, whose kid is also studying there, coz the kid is physically challenged. One such kid is not only blind, but also mentally retarded. Some kids are from rich family, and those families financially aid the school. There were 3 foreigners, I heard 2 of them are actually teaching in that school.

They learn using the language called Braille. It is a multilingual code. Any language can be represented using this code. For more info on Braille, please refer, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braille.

Using this code, they have printed Baghavat Geeta, in Sanskrid Language and Telugu scripts, which has been listed in Limca world records.

BTW, oracle is already associated with that school. They are doing volunteer activities there. Met one of Oracle guys there, Anand. Visited their exhibition. It was nice to see their preperations, how do they do, what are they looking for and lot of other details also.

In the evening, they had their culturals program. They have their own music troop, the one who plays the keyboard is completely blind, he plays it so good. Another blind kid was playing drums, he was also amazing.

Telugu music director, KeeraVani had come as a chief guest. The kids were so happy to talk to him. After he left I cud see the kids were discussing among themselves that I asked him this, he said this, he told me to do this, he gave me shake-hand.

Some of the photographs taken there when OraVolunteers visited the place:

Fete @ Little Sisters Of The Poor

Again it is time for me to go to Little sisters Of the Poor- Home For the Aged.

This time the purpose was different. They had arranged a fete there in their premises. The purpose of this fete was to raise fund to renovate their premises.

The gents' wards are available with attached bathrooms and toilets. The are planning to provide the same facility for the womens' ward as well. So they arranged different stalls over there. Some are by themselves and some are by the outsiders.

The following are the different items available over there:

1. HandiCrafts by the inmates of the LSOP
2. Different Pickles prepared by LSOP
3. Fruit Wines
4. Mutton Biriyani from Paradise
5. Fish fries from Taj Krishna
6. Chinese Cornor
7. Crispy dosa/Aappam by LSOP
8. Games for Kids/Adults by Oracle
9. Games/Tatoo drawing by HSBC
10. Ice Cream cornor

When I actually went there, I had no idea what I was going to do. Because unlike last time, this time my job was to run one stall, conduct the games. And I have never done that before, because I am slightly a shy person and wont be able to be interactive and funny to make people involved. But I was able to manage to some extent with the help of others.

And when we were setting up the stalls, I was thinking would people really interested in coming to these kinda Fete, play games and enjoy. But something else was there in store for us.

This is how the fete was opened.

This is our first stall were we had kept the bowling for kids as well as adults.

These two were our regular customers for bowling, they both played nearly 20 times each and won 6-7 times. The first girl didnt allow me to arrange the bottles, because I was keeping them apart that she was unable to win...:-)

This is our second stall were we had kept fishing the goodies and 1 minute games. In this one minute game, he should make tower plastic cups.

We had a paiting competition for kids, look @ the size of the kid and their involvment.

These are two of the best paintings that we selected.

This was prize distribution for the best paintings.

What are these two grandmas looking at? They are so keen in doing R&D...

This is our third stall were we had kept throwing the ring and basket ball games.

Thats our team again which was behind the successful program.

There is a community called HOME for the old/aged... in orcut. I had scrapped the hyderbad members of this community. Expected many people, but two ladies who got the information had turned up for the fete.

People who are interested can join this community in orcut, can provide/receive more information reg. the Old Age Homes.

Meet you all again soon...
