Adventurous Trip to Nagarjuna Sagar...

Friday, 13th evening evening while eating samosas, ppl started about a trip to Nagarjuna Sagar on road by bikes. Not a bad idea, but should we go in this burning heat? But many people were ready, so I also said okay. The plan is to leave on Sunday morning by 6 AM and comeback to Hyderabad for dinner.

Nice debate on Sat evening, whether to go or not to go. When Ravi came and told me, it is 180 KMs, too hot, will be too late and Mon we had to come to office. So even my mind got changed. But after talking to many ppl, found out that all of them are ready to come.

But we had to accomodate 3 girls, so we were in need of a car. Rahul is not coming, Anish cant take his car on Sunday, so may be if Kalasagar comes in his car and the trip would be on, otherwise no of ppl would be less, and eventually the trip would be cancelled.

I was confident that Kalasagar wont be coming, infact everybody was saying the samething, but surprisingly, he agreed without even a single question. Okay, so the trip is ON.

I had parcelled a chicken biriyani on Saturday evening itself to have it on Sunday morning, coz I cant manage till 9 when i wake up @ 5. Had biriyani @ 5:30 and left along with Ravi, Rashmi, Santosh and Joseph from Madhapur to our meeting place Mehdipatnam and joined with other people, Anish, Chetan, Jai, RC, Shyam, Satish, Pavani and Harika. As expected ppl arived late, finally we started from there @ 7 AM.

We missed Saga and Naseer @ the place where v were supposed to meet and we were on the Nagarjuna sagar road and finally decided to stop and wait for them.

While waiting for Naseer and Sagar on the highway.

They joined us in another 15 mins. Now the first fun part, nobody was ready to get into Kalasagar's car. He was begging, no response. Then he says, 'Now or never'. Even then nobody got into his car, coz everyone wanted a bike ride, that he had to drive all alone, but with all our baggages dumped in his car.

The road is clean with no traffic and my girl friend(my bike, Honda Unicorn :D) wanted me to ride her with full speed. But since speed is dangerous, I didnt go over 110 KMPH. After 45mins I stopped @ a place where I saw some hotels, where we can have our breakfast and waited for others.

Photos taken while we were having breakfast at our first stop.

Then we started again, myself and Joseph were going side by side, stopped after 45 mins where again I saw some hotels. People joined after some 20 mins there

Photo taken @ our second stop.

Then we again started to Nagarjuna Sagar dam, where the confusion started. Some people waited in the dam to visit the Nagarjuna Gonda island, which is there in the middle of the dam, but some people flew to Ethipothala falls without knowing where exactly are they supposed to go. Since the last launch to the island is @ 2 PM, we asked all of them to comeback. But still they managed to stay @ the falls only and asked us to go there.

I was really disappointed that I am missing the launch journey to the island. But what was there in store was still more challenging and exciting, we travelled thru the ghat to reach the bottom of the falls, where we took bath and had a real nice time.

After all these some people wanted to leave early, some people wanted to have dinner before leaving and Chetan wanted to leave early at the sametime he was hungry too. Jai, Pavani, Rc, Harika, Santosh and Joseph left. Remaining all went for dinner, the fish that we had there was amazing. And after the dinner Chetan decided to stay back and come the next day., coz he didnt wanna ride in the night.

The mighty 8 people(Anish, Naseer, Kalasagar, Ravi, Rashmi, Satish, Shyam and Me) started, what do you call the most adventurous part of the journey. We started @ 8:30 PM and planned to reach Hyd by 12 in the midnight. But what was there in store was soemthing different. Everything was fine for the first two hours, we had two stops and had tea on both the stops.

Another 55 KMs to reach the city and 10 KMs from where we started after our second break, I found Anish missing. I asked people, they told he gone past us.

But I was confident that he didnt overtake us. So we started going in 40KMPH for some 5 mins, then stopped to identify what happend to him.

After stopping we realised none of our mobiles is working, except mine(thanks to BSNL), where the charge was very less. Thats the only source of communication at that point. I tried to call Anish, and was getting the message that the number is not reachable. We had no choice but to wait there.

After some 20 mins got a call from Anish himself. He told that the battery in his bike was totally down and cud not start it. Before that itself Ravi and Satish had left to search for Anish. They tried to push with all the energy that they had. It was not showing even a .01% of scope of starting.

In the meantime we cud see lightning and thunder in the direction towards the city and the climate was getting colder. The power went off!!!! We cud not see anything on the either side of the road wihtout our headlights. So we thought we would also go and join them. So me, Sagar, Rashmi, Naseer and Shyam left to join Ravi n Satish in pushing Anish's Bull(et).

It was not getting started, so we decided to find out a rope from the nearby village, tie it in Sagar's car and pull it till the city. We got the rope from one of the trucks passing by and towed the bull(et), with Anish sitting on it.

It was not even 10-15 mins since we started from there, it started raining. Not raining, it was pouring. We cud not go over 35-40 KMPH and another 40 KMs to be covered to reach the city, we were totally drenched in the rain, feeling damn cold in the rain, with my helment and specs totally wet in the rain, cud not see anything in the road beyond 10-15 feets. Had a nice time! Yup! When you have no other go, learn to enjoy the go you have!

Finally we reached the city @ 2 AM in the morning, Sagar was slowly pulling the bull and some 10 KMs before that city, they parked the bike in a petrol bunk, came and joined us. From there Anish took my bike to his home, Ravi and Satish went to Naseer's place. Shyam left to his place. Sagar dropped Rashmi and me in

Madhapur, had some snacks from my home and left to his place. It was 3 in the morning when I reached home. Altogether it was a wonderful experience that we will never forget in our lifetime.
