One day bicycle trip to Frankston-18-Apr-2025
We decided to go to Frankston and Carrum today. We decided to take our bicycles in the train so will ride till the Williams Landing station will take the train. Get down at the Frankston or Carrum and ride in between Frankston and Carrum and visit the beautiful beaches in between Frankston and Car..
After the breakfast we started we took Italy and Onion chutney for Karthik for his breakfast because he didn’t have it at home and he will have it on the train. But myself and Gomathi have finished breakfast at home itself now. Karthik; will he have the breakfast in the train or after reaching Frankston? we don’t know, it’s yet to be decided.
Once we reach Frankston, we will ride up to Carrum which is probably around 10 km and we will visit all the beaches in between we have taken bathing suits and so we will get into the water and play in the water .
Cycling is always fun and today is no exception . riding from home till Williams Landing station was just the beginning of the fun and we boarded the train to Frankston.
Karthik had his breakfast when we were in the train. While we were travelling, we decided we would get down in Chelsea rather than going to Frankston and we will ride cycle from Chelsea to Frankston.
We got out at Chelsea beach and we rushed to the toilet :D We enjoyed the view of the beach and we refilled the water bottles and we started our ride to Frankston.
But in a few minutes, only myself and Gomathi started feeling hungry. So we stopped at the beauty spot to have our lunch. After that we again started riding.
Then, in another 10 minutes, Karthik felt hungry. We stopped again for Karthik to have his lunch. Then we again started.
In between, Karthik stopped for tying his shoe laces and thats when I found out a creek. We visited the over bridge, stood in the overbridge and enjoyed the view of the creek. A couple came in two separate boats rowing. We had a quick chat with them. We just learnt that it was Kananook Creek.
Just a kilometre before Frankston, we went to Reddy express which was formally Coles express to have coffee?. Karthik took hot chocolate and iced coffee option was there so I thought I would try that.
I kept the coffee cup and touch the iced coffee button put the coffee came was not cold. It was just warm. Then I went to the counter and asked how to get the iced coffee and they showed the refrigerator where cup with ice was skipped and they asked to use the cups with ice.
myself and Gomathi took the cold coffee and Karthik took hot chocolate . We tried the cold coffee in 7-Eleven for the first time, but it was not that good.
We tried to purchase the gift card because it was there with 10 percentage off, but the sale did not go through because of some system issues so we had to drop the buying.
And that was our last stop before the Frankston waterfront and here we are in the Frankston waterfront which was our ultimate destination . But the weather changed suddenly and it was very cold. So we couldn’t spend much time in the Frankston waterfront.
we quickly reach the station refreshed ourselves and we entered the platform one to see of the train leaving the platform on the next train was in another 20 minutes.
We thought of taking the train to Williamtown and change it in Newport or Flinders Street . But that train itself will leave after 10 minutes only so why take pain of taking the bikes, securing them in the train and again changing the train in Flinders Street. instead, we can relax in the Frankston station itself and then take the direct train to Williams Landing.
we boarded the train, secured our bikes in the train which itself took a few minutes and then it was not a long wait before the train started.
Karthik started watching video in the train and we didn’t like it . When we asked him not to watch for long, he didn’t like it. He started arguing with us for that and it was going on for a really long time.
and again gave him video for 10 minutes . In between we were all hungry so we had some snacks in the train itself. And finally the train reached to Williams Landing station at around 6:40 pm.
When we got out of the station, it was really really cold which we were not prepared for . So we had to ride our bikes for the end of kilometres in that cold weather and exactly at 7 pm, we reached home.
